10 Basic Hygiene Tips to Keep Your Bathroom Clean
Keeping one’s bathroom clean is one of the most difficult and loathful tasks. However, we and you both know how important it is to keep your bathroom clean and hygienic, especially to keep your loved ones happy and healthy. But, how to make that seemingly unachievable task achievable? Well, talking about it, there are several tips we’ve got handy to make the whole task easy. Take a look below for basic hygiene tips that’d take away the stress of caring for your bathroom – so you can spend more time enjoying it and less time scrubbing it.
5 minutes a day keeps deep cleaning away
Having to do all this at once makes it more difficult. Thus, it is always a better way to break your daily chores into bite-sized slots – dedicate 5 minutes for every task and do them one by one. For instance, for the first 5 minutes you can tidy the bathroom fittings. The next 5 minutes you can spend spraying on surfaces, letting the surfaces soak the cleaner for the next one minute. Once the cleaner has been fully soaked in, spend the next 5 minutes wiping the surfaces. If you continue to do this on a daily basis, your deep cleaning sessions in the bathroom will become less and less daunting.
Apply the same process when it comes to cleaning your bathroom fittings or the toilet bowl. You can also add a toilet cleaner block in your bowl which will clean it every time you flush. Employing this technique will keep grime build-up and stains to a minimum – and means less scrubbing for you.
Give up the bathroom graveyard
In one of our previous blogs titled “Keeping your bathroom hygienic: tips”, we talked about how throwing everything in the bathroom seems like the easiest option. Everything that seems to be the odd one out or doesn’t find a place in the house ends up in the bathroom. This leads to things piling up and filling up the bathroom. This pile of things could be made of very simple objects such as the old lipstick, hair gel with a pea-sized portion left in the bottle, an ancient old comb, and other things you can’t seem to part with.
If you too have the same habit and you don’t change, soon enough your bathroom will change into a graveyard for all things old and unwanted. To avoid that from happening, take a deep breath and let go of your attachments. Declutter your bathroom by removing everything that doesn’t belong in there. This would not just keep your bathroom clean and hygienic, it will also keep all the dirt at bay.
Coat shower walls and doors with a water repellent
Stop moisture in its tracks
Keeping your shower dry can help solve most of your cleaning problems. For instance, keep a squeegee in your shower and make it a rule that the last person to take a shower wipes down the walls, tub, bathroom fittings and shower doors. These extra minutes of effort can save up plenty of time in the long run. The other way to do this is by keeping a window open while turning up the exhaust fan in the bathroom. This will quickly zap the moisture while showering and avoid mildew stains from forming.
P.S: Don’t forget to stretch the shower curtain open when it dries.
