But, how to make that seemingly unachievable task achievable? Well, talking about it, there are several tips we’ve got handy to make the whole task easy. 5 minutes a day keeps deep cleaning away

Having to do all this at once makes it more difficult. Thus, it is always a better way to break your daily chores into bite-sized slots – dedicate 5 minutes for every task and do them one by one. For instance, for the first 5 minutes you can tidy the bathroom fittings. The next 5 minutes you can spend spraying on surfaces, letting the surfaces soak the cleaner for the next one minute. Once the cleaner has been fully soaked in, spend the next 5 minutes wiping the surfaces. If you continue to do this on a daily basis, your deep cleaning sessions in the bathroom will become less and less daunting.

Apply the same process when it comes to cleaning your bathroom fittings or the toilet bowl. You can also add a toilet cleaner block in your bowl which will clean it every time you flush. Employing this technique will keep grime build-up and stains to a minimum – and means less scrubbing for you.

Give up the bathroom graveyard

In one of our previous blogs titled “Keeping your bathroom hygienic: tips”, we talked about how throwing everything in the bathroom seems like the easiest option. Everything that seems to be the odd one out or doesn’t find a place in the house ends up in the bathroom. This leads to things piling up and filling up the bathroom. This pile of things could be made of very simple objects such as the old lipstick, hair gel with a pea-sized portion left in the bottle, an ancient old comb, and other things you can’t seem to part with.

If you too have the same habit and you don’t change, soon enough your bathroom will change into a graveyard for all things old and unwanted. To avoid that from happening, take a deep breath and let go of your attachments. Declutter your bathroom by removing everything that doesn’t belong in there. This would not just keep your bathroom clean and hygienic, it will also keep all the dirt at bay.

If you can’t seem to find a way to get started, spend 10 minutes going through each product and sorting the whole pile into ‘yes’, ‘no’ and ‘may be’. Keep the things sorted into ‘yes’ category and throw the ‘no’, keeping ‘may be’ for next week.

Coat shower walls and doors with a water repellent

Your shower walls and your doors, be they metal or wood, are more likely to get damaged by the water from your shower. The best way to protect them is to coat the surfaces with water repellent paint. The added coating can help water, minerals, and soap scum bead up and runoff, so there’s less for you to scrub away.

Stop moisture in its tracks

Keeping your shower dry can help solve most of your cleaning problems. For instance, keep a squeegee in your shower and make it a rule that the last person to take a shower wipes down the walls, tub, bathroom fittings and shower doors. These extra minutes of effort can save up plenty of time in the long run. The other way to do this is by keeping a window open while turning up the exhaust fan in the bathroom. This will quickly zap the moisture while showering and avoid mildew stains from forming.

P.S: Don’t forget to stretch the shower curtain open when it dries.

Skip bar soap at the sink

Skip using a soap bar in your bathroom. The soap melts and leaves the sink area grimy. Using a bathroom accessory i.e. hands-free soap dispenser instead can help you eliminate the grime, keeping your countertop stay cleaner.

Install towel bars

Having towels in your bathroom is not just to dry wet hands, it also makes your bathroom look a bit more sophisticated. For the sake of that sophistication and to have that option to dry your hands, install a bathroom accessory which is towel bars. You can checkout Vaalve’s range of accessories for functional and affordable towel rods. You’ll find a wide variety of options which would add to the charm of your bathroom space. Plus, using towel bars helps dry your towels more quickly, making your bathroom look tidier, too.

Use long-lasting cleaners

When choosing toilet cleaners, make sure not to cut costs and go for options which are more effective and offer lasting results. There are several brands in the market that offer really good quality surface cleaners. These formulas help sinks, tubs, and toilets resist stains for longer than usual.

Keep a stash of disinfecting cleaning wipes handy

Prevention is better than cure. Reiterating the same thought, it’s better to wipe stains before they dry out and become difficult to remove. For instance, toothpaste splatters, water marks, and other messes become more strenuous to remove when they dry up. Thus, keep a stash of cleaning wipes handy and wipe such stains the moment they occur. You can also stash tap-and-clean products which are good for spot cleaning.

Take out trash more often

One can be so lazy in the name of taking out the trash, it might take weeks for them to do it. However, taking it out often makes the bathroom look cleaner and also eliminates the risk of trash can overflowing. Do this first thing in the morning before heading out and see the change it brings.

Create more surface space

Last but not least, add to the available surfaces by mounting holders onto your walls. Having toiletries and gadgets over your surfaces makes them look scruffy, leaves marks and makes cleaning more difficult.
